PortSensor is an incredibly flexible monitoring platform. We've provided a Console Monitor which can report on any combination of console commands as sensors. You're also free to create custom monitors which can report metrics from nearly any application or device (which is especially simple with access to a database or API).

Server Monitoring


Situation:
The most typical use of PortSensor is to monitor server availability and metrics. By default an alarm will sound when any sensor is unavailable.

Ideas:
  • Play an alarm when HTTP/FTP/SSH/SMTP/POP3 is unavailable.
